Squall: It's about that mind set

Someone asked me a question a few posts back on facebook about how to improve your cosplay, and I'm going to talk about that now. But, before I start a whole lot of writing i want to say; I know there are plenty of things that I don't know in cosplay, plenty of things that I still need to learn and I am not a expert nor I'm bragging about what i know. I just want to express how i see it and how I'm doing it.

Mind Set: Think about it seriously
Before testing your skill. You should have a strong mind set. Once you build a really strong, unmovable goal, you sure will try your best to get things started [if you keep pushing things back and stopping in the middle of things your mind set is not that strong o3o]. Even though you don't have the skill I think you will be eager to ask your friends and family or going on to the inter web to find out.  That is the urge to knowledge, and the more you learn the more you want to try it out for yourself.
There are  lot of cosplayer out there don't have any special skills to begin with. For example, me, I didn't know how to sew nor craft. [My make up skill was pretty much set before i started cosplaying though.] Any way, it's all about trial and errors; practice makes perfect; the more you do it, the more experience you will have. So improvement doesn't come over night and sometimes it's so small you won't be able to tell until years later when you look back everything feels different.

In conclusion, I think to improve your cosplay you will need to really want it, willing to do anything to improve. Then you will find yourself looking for ways to improve it. Once you find the way you will be excited to actually try it out and make it happen. So cosplay is not all about having fun, it's be serious about it, working hard, learning new things and having fun while at it.
